Fire at Karachi home-based school injures two children

A fire broke out at a home-based school near Khokhrapar in Karachi’s Malir area on Monday. The incident caused panic in the neighborhood and prompted an immediate emergency response.

According to police, the school was operating on the ground floor of a residential house, while a family was living on the upper floor of the same building.

Rescue teams rushed to the scene soon after receiving information about the fire. They launched a swift operation to evacuate children trapped inside the building.

During the rescue effort, two children suffered burn injuries. The injured children were between two-and-a-half and five years old.

Rescue officials immediately shifted the injured children to a nearby hospital. Doctors are providing medical treatment, and their condition is being closely monitored.

Police confirmed that firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control. Authorities have started investigating the cause of the fire at the home-based school.

Meanwhile, the incident comes days after a deadly fire at Gul Plaza in Karachi. That blaze killed at least 73 people and exposed serious weaknesses in emergency response systems.
